Deepawali, a Hindi word, is a combination of two words – Deep means ‘lamp’ and awali which means ‘series’. A series of lamps enlightening the environment and filling the hearts of people with joy and happiness. Deepawali is a symbolic representation of all these. Light means coming out of ignorance which is like darkness in our lives and in turn providing all the peace and satisfaction in our lives.

The foremost beauty of any festival is in enjoying in a healthy, peaceful, happy and joyous way.

Let us celebrate Deepawali by lighting the earthen lamps, having safe, healthy and hygienic food stuffs, not firing those crackers that cause air and noise pollution.

Let us enjoy in a decent, peaceful, healthy, eco-friendly and pollution freeway and inspire others also for the same so that everywhere there is a realm of this wisdom.

Rightly said above, the youth is the foundation of any civilization or culture. They have had always been the driving force for the betterment of the mankind and the world, if under proper guidance.

With the tremendous support from the youth of India, YPF has successfully added a long list of activities to its kitty in a short span of time. The latest being ‘International Day of Peace’ held in 17 major cities including Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad etc. simultaneously by organizing ‘Peace March’.

After having its foothold in India now YPF has spread its wings to a beautiful neighboring country located in foothills of Himalayas, i.e. Nepal which is inhabited by very simple and heart oriented people. On 18th-19th October, YPF was launched through the workshop held in capital town Kathmandu where some 120 enthusiastic people from all over Nepal participated. Sharing lots of ideas about YPF promotions they took the responsibility to drive the YPF activities in the region.
With the hope of being successful in touching the hearts of millions of youths in Nepal and developing the culture of peace there, YPF is committed to go through a long way to other countries too, thus reaching each and every person who is alive on the face of this earth with the wonderful idea of having peace in this life, right here!

Where has that peace and parity gone away from us all?

Have we really lost those qualities or are just a click away from us?

We are for sure still child at our hearts and that shines occasionally, and something similar happened here in this school when the team of Youth Peace Fest approached the authorities to conduct Art for Peace event for children.

The team got warm feeling from school for conducting an event on Culture of Peace through ‘Art for Peace’. The Chair Person was astonished to watch team’s effort and promised to cooperate with all the facilities onwards. The teachers very happy and participated in the activity and got much impressed with the creativity of the small children on such an abstract topic.
The Principal encouraged YPF team to conduct such activities on ‘Dance for Peace’, ‘Write for Peace’ etc… Before prize distribution students applauded and showed their crayons with full enthusiasm and cheerfulness.

Youth Peace Foundation is once again bringing for you “Walk for Peace” on International Day of Peace, 21^st September.

YPF has always worked hard towards building peace amongst youth in the nation. Started just a year ago, the upcoming event is expected to bring around 20,000 people from across the country.

Event will take place simultaneously across 13 Indian cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Ranchi, Varanasi, Pune, Amritsar. A walk will be taken by all the participants around the venue, then to be followed by speeches on Peace by some eminent people, videos on peace, Musical performances by drummers and bands. The national event will conclude with all the participants signing in on the Peace flex.

Many dignitaries and political leaders will honor the Event with their presence. Marking the 30^th anniversary of International Day of Peace, Event offers a unique forum to build consensus and chart the best path forward for global peace.

Two U.K based NGOs “Peace one Day” and “Eliminate domestic violence” have joined hands with us. Prominent NGOs like Raj Vidya Kendra, Prem Sagar Foundation and Times Foundation have also joined in. All India Radio and Anjan TV are the media partners for the same.

“This event is very special to us. This is the first time YPF is organizing a peace walk at such large scale. People are showing huge interest and their faith in Peace promotion seems marvelous. The youth here understands the value that peace brings as a catalyst for Human Revolution,” said Balendu Mohan, Director, YPF
